Dental veneers are made of porcelain, and we use them to dramatically improve the appearance of your smile. Veneers can fix major problems with discoloration or oddly shaped teeth. They are thin shells that fit right over the top of your natural tooth and cover it up. Each veneer is custom made to fit your smile and to match the color of your teeth so that the result looks completely natural.

Other conditions we can treat with veneers include: crooked teeth, short teeth, worn teeth, unattractive looking teeth, and teeth with damage or discoloration from prescription drugs. Veneers are useful for hiding many flaws with your smile and are often the secret behind celebrities' Hollywood smiles.

Veneers are permanent, so when you decide to get veneers, it is important to remember that it is a decision that will affect your smile forever. Our patients love the results they get from veneers and many report wishing they had done it sooner.

If you are looking to dramatically change the appearance of your smile, veneers may be a great option for you. Being proud of your smile means that you can feel confident when speaking and eating in public. Your smile is a key part of the first impression you make when you meet someone. Why not make it great?

A crown (or a cap) refers to a dental restoration that fits over the top of your tooth like a protective helmet. Crowns become necessary when your tooth is fractured, has deep decay, is damaged, or has become otherwise compromised.

A crown requires Dr. Beth Kreider to prep your tooth. This means that she removes some of your tooth structure as well as all decay in order for your crown to fit over the top of your natural tooth. Your crown will be custom made just for you. The size, shape, and color of your crown will match your existing teeth.

Our teeth absorb so much force form eating and speaking that cracked teeth are pretty common. Dr. Kreider has performed numerous crown procedures over the last 28 years and is highly skilled at creating successful and attractive crowns to help you maintain your dental health.

Failure to treat a fractured tooth could lead to tooth loss and pain. A fractured tooth is a time bomb and can split down the middle at any time. Often, a split tooth causes severe pain and almost always needs an extraction. If you have sensitivity or pain in any of your teeth, let us know so Dr. Beth Kreider can look at it and let you know if it requires a crown.

Simply put, gum disease (periodontal disease) is a serious infection in your mouth. Because our mouths constantly have bacteria, we need to brush and floss to keep them healthy. It is also necessary to have professional dental cleanings to remove the bacteria from the areas that you cannot reach with brushing and flossing alone.

Beth Kreider DDS and our dental hygiene team will do a special exam to determine the health of your gums. We can inform you if you are missing any areas when you brush and help you get your technique perfected. You can look for common symptoms of gum disease, too, including bleeding or swelling of the gums. If you have problems that last more than a couple of days, call us and we can help you get back on track to excellent health.

In recent years, doctors linked gum disease to serious systemic illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, stroke, cancer, and respiratory diseases. That is why maintaining your oral health is so important.

We treat gum disease with a special cleaning that gently sterilizes your gums and teeth. We remove all plaque and tartar and recommend more frequent dental cleanings, if necessary. In some cases, we may recommend additional rinses or medication placed directly at the site to assist with healing.

TMJ stands for temporomandibular joint. When people refer to TMJ, they generally mean TMJ disorders, or problems with the jaw joint. TMJD affects millions of Americans each year. Prolonged symptoms of TMJD can cause fatigue and even depression because of the pain and discomfort.

Your jaw is incredibly strong. Sometimes, clenching or grinding your teeth can create severe facial pain, headaches, clicking, swelling, popping, and even locking. These problems can be mildly annoying to severe and require treatment to protect the health of your jaw joint as well as your teeth.

Beth Kreider DDS treats TMJ by making a night guard for our patients. A night guard absorbs some of the force from your jaws and helps protect your teeth from the wear and tear of clenching and grinding. It can also relieve the headaches and facial pain associated with TMJ by positioning your jaw in an ideal position.

Failure to treat TMJ generally leads to the worsening of your symptoms. Some patients may find their symptoms become so severe that they need surgery, prescriptions, and physical therapy to treat it. Your best chance to avoid worsening symptoms and pain is to treat it in the early stages. Beth Kreider DDS is experienced in the successful treatment of TMJD.

When we place a filling, we wish we could make it last forever, but because your teeth absorb force daily from chewing, talking, and possibly from grinding your teeth, fillings last on average from eight to ten years. Beth Kreider DDS does an excellent job with filling and eliminating decay. She tries to catch those potential problems as early as possible.

Over time, fillings can break down. They might just get old, or you might damage one by chewing on something particularly hard. No matter how you damaged it, the compromised filling can allow bacteria to enter your tooth. This means the potential for a cavity exists.

When we see you for your preventative exams and professional hygiene appointments, we look for any damage to your fillings. If we notice damage, it is important to replace your fillings as quickly as possible to avoid secondary decay.

In our Denver dental office, Dr. Beth Kreider offers both white and amalgam fillings. The type of filling you choose might depend on your own personal preference, where your filling is located, and how much force it will receive when you chew.

If you have a tooth with a large amount of filling material, we may recommend a crown to stabilize and protect your tooth.
